Gladstone supports a diverse range of lifestyles and interests. One’s thought goes immediately to cattle and sheep farming, or lifestyle and forestry blocks, but a closer look uncovers a lot more. An industry leading pig farm and amazing horse trekking adventures, bull breeding, and a plethora of small businesses, including a nationally renowned expert wheelwright. Add to this quality B&Bs and a luxury five star retreat, and you become aware that Gladstone is a very unique place to live and work, or just visit.
The community is well supported with an active sports centre and local hotel, the thriving school and daycare centre deliver a high quality of education with a practical, rural flavour that city kids just don’t have the opportunity to experience in their suburban environments.
Please appreciate that this website is based simply on my own first glimpse of Gladstone after only two years of living here. The content is drawn from my own experience and exposure to this wonderful little piece of paradise and I acknowledge that I have more than like left out a raft of information that should be included.
I decided to publish this as it is, because I wanted to share what I had so far, rather than wait unit I had it ‘perfect’ This is my third ANZAC day in Gladstone, coming up next week, so I chose to share this website now so people had a change to view my photos from last year’s dawn parade before this years dawn parade.
I welcome any offer of assistance, input, or material for this website, I intend to keep this website active and current myself but welcome anyone who would like to be involved.
